Basic Korean Vowels (기본 모음)
ㅏ ㅓ ㅗ ㅜ ㅡ ㅣ ㅐ ㅔ ㅑ ㅕ
Korean has 10 basic vowels. They are organized into two groups based on the vowel shape: • Vertical vowels (written beside the consonant): ㅏ, ㅓ, ㅣ, ㅐ, ㅔ, ㅑ, ㅕ • Horizontal vowels (written below the consonant): ㅗ, ㅜ, ㅡ Adding a stroke makes a "y" sound: ㅏ→ㅑ (a→ya), ㅓ→ㅕ (eo→yeo)
